For 48 hours after a sugaring treatment, hair follicles will remain open and skin may be more sensitive. So, it’s important to be aware of certain post-treatment recommendations.
+ Avoid touching freshly sugared areas.
+ Direct sun exposure and UV tanning are not advised for 24-48 hours post-treatment.
+ Hydrating is important between sugaring appointments to help prevent in-grown hairs. Natural oils, body butters, and serums are great options for keeping sugared skin hydrated, but should not be applied in the area to be sugared on the day of the appointment.
+ Exfoliating is also important between appointments to allow healthy hair re-growth, however, it’s best not to exfoliate the day before, the day of, or the day after sugaring.
+ Skin should be gently exfoliated every 2-3 days beginning 3-5 days post-treatment according to sensitivity. Exfoliating soaps and cotton mitts provide gentle options for keeping skin smooth until the next sugaring treatment.
+ Sugared areas should be kept clean. Pools, hot tubs, physical and sexual activity should be avoided for at least 48 hours post-treatment.
